-Vocabulary

One of the biggest areas for improvement among 7th grade students is the advancement of vocabulary.  In fact, by this age, one of the ways to drastically improve reading comprehension is by drastically improving vocabulary. 

One way we will be working to improve this will be with the vocabulary book each student has been given.  Unit tests from this book will be given every 2 weeks with reviews every three units. 

Try out some of the games and activities from www.vocabularyworkshop.com  to help know your vocab words!  Click on “book A” to hear the words, play Hangman, do a Word Search, Crossword, or Multiple Choice!  Study and be entertained!

Another way we incorporate new words into our repertoire is by the “Word Wall” in class.  Every day we have a word-of-the day that we try to master in our every day speech and writing.
