-Enrichment Possibilities

There are always different ways a student can learn more and improve their grade.  One way is by choosing to independently complete these projects (and earn some extra credit!)  Here are a few choices:

-Go to the Authors’ Area in the classroom, borrow a book, and write a summary.  This section changes about every two weeks (since they correlate with our authors from LA1), so there are always new selections here!

-Choose one of the “Read On” books from the classroom.  Read the book and then give  your presentation for the class.  You will need to meet with me for approval at several stages of this activity.  These are novels and longer in length, so they remain in the room all quarter.

-You can also try some of these activities that correlate with the stories read in LA1:

Rikki-Tikki-Tavi: http://www.phila.k12.pa.us/schools/harding/rikki%20tikki%20tavi.html

For LA 2 only:  (Sorry LA1, we do this in class!)

 Three Skeleton Key: http://www.phila.k12.pa.us/schools/harding/threeskeletonkey.html

The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street:

Watch the original Twilight Zone episode and then do a COMPARE and CONTRAST of the teleplay and the episode!  (Remember, there is a certain graphic organizer you can use for Compare and Contrast….)
